Who can use the OCU Blackboard Test Generator?

How do I use the OCU Blackboard Test Generator?

There are two ways to generate questions with the OCU Blackboard Test Generator:

Question Pools

  1. Access the OCU Blackboard Test Generator. At the top you will see instructions and basic information for using the tool.
  1. Give your test a name.
  1. From the drop-down menu, select the type of question you'd like to generate. Please note that the tool can only generate one question type at a time - so you if you have various question types, you will need to generate in batches.
  1. Questions can be entered in manually or pasted from a Word Document into the text box. Please keep in mind that they need to be in a specific format and that correct answers need to be marked with an asterisk. For more details on formatting, click on the question mark near the top of the page and choose the Question Formatting tab.
  1. Once all of your questions have been entered and formatted correctly, click Generate Test Questions.
  1. If every question is formatted correctly, the text box should appear green. If any questions appear red, this means the format needs to be adjusted. Adjust formatting and select “Generate Test Questions” again to verify that the questions are now green.
  1. Once all the questions appear green, click Download Question Pool. A zip file containing the questions will download to your computer. The file name will match the name you gave the test at the beginning of the process.
  1. You can now import the questions into Blackboard through Question Banks.
