Introduction
LanSchool Classic is a software application that allows you to see and control student computers within a computer lab setting (Note: Most GC labs will automatically have LanSchool Classic installed).
What can LanSchool do for you?
Web Limiting: Allows faculty to limit internet use to specific sites (i.e., for a test in Blackboard only)
Share Screen: Allows faculty to share their podium computer screen with all students for demonstrations
Messaging: Provides teachers the capability to message directly with students or the entire class.
Push Website: Enables teachers to push a website to every student computer to help everyone be on the same page
Snapshot: Provides teachers with the ability to image capture a student's screen
Blank screen: Teachers can blank every student computer screen to shift the focus to the front of the classroom
🗺️ Getting Started with LanSchool Classic
Submit an IT ticket to request access
Before using LanSchool, you must submit an IT ticket to request access. Use the Access Request – Other Resource form found in the IT service portal. This must be done at least a week prior to using LanSchool as it may take several days for the IT ticket to be processed.

- Login to the podium computer with your Georgian College credentials.
- Open LanSchool by clicking on the icon found in the right-hand corner of the task bar:

If you do not see the LanSchool icon there, look for a shortcut on the desktop and double click to launch the application:

3. When LanSchool opens, you should see a series of screens (these are the computers within your classroom).
