Introduction
Poll Everywhere is an application that allows you to poll your students for a variety of purposes in many different ways. You can create multiple choice questions, word clouds, clickable images, and more. To learn how to download and use Poll Everywhere, check out the instructions below.

How do I get a Poll Everywhere account?
Georgian Account
- Go to Polleverywhere.com and click Log in (not sign up) to create a Georgian specific account
- Enter your Georgian College email address, click Next
- Select Log in with Georgian College
- You will be directed to a Sign-up page. Fill in additional information and click Sign up for my Poll Everywhere account
- Your page should refresh – then click on Poll Everywhere (top left)
- Select Log in (top right)
- Check your profile (bottom left person icon) – under Account information, you should now be on a University-wide plan
- If you already have a free account, email facultyedtech@georgiancollege.ca to obtain a Georgian specific Poll Everywhere account (see tip sheet: Resolving connection conflict with free accounts below)
- Georgian accounts give you the ability to have more student participants and the ability to integrate poll results into Bb Gradebook
How do I use Poll Everywhere?
- To use Poll Everywhere online or through PowerPoint, you will first need to create a Poll Everywhere account (see instructions above)
- Poll Everywhere can be used and shared through your online account by simply sharing your activity during an online or in-person session. OR
- The Poll Everywhere app can be downloaded in order to embed polls directly into your PowerPoint (see tutorials below for Georgian and non-Georgian computers)
- Students can participate in your poll via a link you share, per activity you create

Login to Poll Everywhere Using Georgian Credentials via Single-Sign-On (SSO)
**If you have a free account, you will not be able to use that address here. To access the premium features of Poll Everywhere you will need to Log in using your Georgian credentials. SEE the tip sheet – Resolving connection conflict with free accounts **
1. Visit https://www.polleverywhere.com/login to log in. Enter your Georgian College email address and click
“Next.”
2. After entering your Georgian College e-mail address, you will be prompted to “Login with Georgian College.” Click that button to move on. *NOTE: the sign on process will be the same for students using the web or app version of the software.”
3. You will be presented with the Poll Everywhere dashboard. This is where you can create various polls. If you have further questions about how to create polls in the web version of the software please visit https://www.polleverywhere.com/support. (outlined in red below)
Download Poll Everywhere for PowerPoint on Georgian College Computers
1. To embed PE into your PowerPoint (PPT) on your GC computer, start by going to the Software Centre.
2. In the Software Centre, search and select, Poll Everywhere
3. Once downloaded, open the PPT desktop application on your computer (not the online version of PPT). You will have Poll Everywhere as an additional menu option. Click on the new Poll Everywhere tab, make sure you “Login” with your GC email address, then start creating activities.
4. You may need to authorize your account.
5. Check to make sure you are logged in (your name should appear in the menu area in PPT), then start creating activities by selecting New Activity.

To embed PE into your PowerPoint (PPT) on a non-GC computer, start by going to: Download for Windows
Click on the Download button and then you may need to open your Downloads area on your computer, and double click on the Poll Everywhere item, and then click Install – follow the steps.
Once downloaded, open the PPT desktop application on your computer (not the online version of PPT). You will have Poll Everywhere as an additional menu option. Click on the new Poll Everywhere tab, make sure you “Login” with your GC email address, then start creating activities.
You may need to authorize your account.
Check to make sure you are logged in (your name should appear in the menu area in PPT), then start creating activities by selecting New Activity.

After you have the add-in installed, open Power Point. You should now see the Poll Everywhere menu along the top of the screen. Click that to reveal the options you have for creating questions. To create new questions, click “New” + “Activity” (see image above) and choose from the many new options available (see image below).

Resolving Connection Conflict with Free Accounts
**This section is for those who have used Poll Everywhere with a free account and used an @georgiancollege.ca email address to create that account, opposed to requesting a Georgian Poll Everywhere account by emailing facultyedtech@georgiancollege.ca
If you encounter trouble logging in using your college credentials through Single-Sign-On (SSO), please send an email to facultyedtech@georgiancollege.ca. After you report your issue you will receive an email invitation to join the Georgian College account. If you do not see it in your Inbox, please check your “Junk” folder.
Click "Accept Invitation" in the email.
When you are directed to log-in to PE, enter your college email address and select "Next."
On the next screen, select “Use password instead” and not the SSO Log in with Georgian College.
Once logged in, you will be able to accept your invite request and join the GC organization account.
After you join the GC Poll Everywhere account, you can incorporate poll results into the Bb Gradebook and have more capacity for students accessing your polls. And now you may log in using the SSO capabilities outline in another tutorial.
