Introduction

Exporting and importing tests and question pools (Bb Original) is a convenient way to reuse questions or tests for assessment purposes across multiple courses or to share assessment strategies with colleagues.

To complete this process, there are two main actions:

  • Creating an export file from the original source course; and
  • Importing the file into the intended destination course(s).

This steps that follow apply to tests, surveys, and pools in Blackboard Original.

Text Instructions

1. Exporting the file (Bb Original)

To export your test, follow these steps:

  1. Open Course Tools
  2. Select Tests, Surveys, and Pools
  3. Choose between Tests, Surveys, or Pools
  4. Click the down arrow beside the item you wish to copy
  5. Click Export
  6. Your file will now download

Once the download is complete, you may continue to the next part of the process.

2. Importing the file (Bb Original)

When the export file download completes, follow these steps for each of the courses you wish to copy the item into.

  1. Open Course Tools
  2. Select Tests, Surveys, and Pools
  3. Choose between Tests, Surveys, or Pools
  4. Click Import
  5. Select the file from your computer
  6. Repeat the process for each item in each course you wish to include it in.
