The Translated Version Alternative Format provides a machine-translated version of the original content into multiple languages. PDF, Word, PowerPoint, and HTML documents are supported.

Why use the Translated Version Alternative Format?

The Translated Version Alternative Format is great for content that is not in a student's primary language. The Translated Version is an ideal resource to compare with the original document when students are stuck or having trouble comprehending.

What if I do not want students to use the Translated Version Alternative Format?

It is understood that certain courses have learning outcomes related to language specifically. In such cases, it may be important to limit students from accessing the Translated Version Alternative Format. While instructors are not able to disable this function, there are some tips to keep in mind when designing and setting up the course.

Faculty can request a usage report to learn if students are accessing the Translated Version Alternative Format in their courses and how often. Such requests can be sent to the FacultyBbSupport@GeorgianCollege.ca team.
