We're excited to announce our upcoming Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW).
Join us Monday June 24th to Wednesday, June 26th from 9 am to 4:30 pm IN PERSON to connect with peers, deepen your practice, hone your instructional skills and earn your ISW certificate.
What is ISW?
The Instructional Skills Workshop is a global, dynamic and interactive professional learning opportunity for faculty at any point in our journey that empowers us to refine our teaching techniques, foster active learning, and create more engaging classroom experiences while trying out our ideas in a low-risk and supportive environment. Through a process of designing and giving mini-lessons, and participating in feedback sessions, we learn with and from each other to grow our teaching competencies. Whether you're a seasoned instructor or just starting out, this workshop offers valuable insights, connections and growth.
In the intensive 3-day event, ISW uses a “laboratory approach” to focus on the development of instructional skills. ISW has been described as a “transformational experience” whether you have been teaching for one year or 20 years.
Through participating in ISW, you will be able to:
1. demonstrate improved instructional skills, including effective lesson planning and the use of active learning techniques,
2. develop the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
3. engage in self-reflection on teaching methods and philosophies.
Key Benefits
