The eCampusOntario H5P Studio is an online platform that allows educators to create, share, and discover interactive educational content. H5P offers a range of content types - quizzes, interactive videos, virtual 360 tours, branching scenarios, and memory games - all designed to enhance digital learning experiences. Educators can freely contribute and access a repository of open educational resources, many of which are licensed under Creative Commons. This collaborative environment encourages innovation in teaching and learning by offering customizable, reusable digital learning tools.
Create an account
Anyone in Ontario associated with a post-secondary institution can create an account for the eCampusOntario H5P Studio. Go to Register - eCampusOntario H5P Studio and fill out the registration form.
Explore the catalogue
With over 300 pages of H5P content, there's a decent chance that what you'd like to create already exists. Depending on the license assigned by the content creator, you can reuse as is, or adapt the content to suit your needs. You can filter the catalogue results by title, type of content (e.g. crossword, mark the words, image hotspot, etc.), subject, and more.
If you find something you'd like to use as is (if the license allows), you can simply link to the page, or you can copy the embed code (if available) to embed it right in your Blackboard course.
See H5P Basics for more information about embedding content to Blackboard.
If you find something that you would like to adapt (if the license allows), you can download the H5P file to upload into your own account to edit.
See Moving H5P content from Blackboard to eCampusOntario for more information about downloading and uploading existing H5P content.
Create your own!
If you aren't able to find existing content in the catalogue to use or adapt, you can create your own! There are over 50 different types of H5P content. Some can be really quick to create, like dialog cards. Others, like branching scenarios, take more time. None of them are difficult, though, and there is easy access to tutorials and examples right from the content builder.
See H5P Basics for more information about creating H5P content form scratch.
